Monica Franklin was introduced to golf as a youngster by her grandfather. She played amateur golf in Greenville and won four club championships at The Cliffs Valley between 1996 and 2002. While working for Wilson Sporting Goods,  Monica found her niche in the golf world.

Prior to joining Verdae Greens in early 2008, as an assistant golf professional, she worked in the same capacity at Kenmure Country Club in Flat Rock, NC.

Her passion for the game and life are reflected on the practice range and putting green.  Teaching and encouraging are two of her many gifts.  Players of all levels have found her teaching/lessons to be invaluable.  She is currently enrolled in the PGA/PGM education program, working toward Class A certification.

Many of EWGA's members are not experienced golfers. They join to learn in an environment that is comfortable and friendly. The EWGA is committed to education and our plans for 2009 include clinics and other educational events.

Do you need a Fairway Friend? Or want to be one?

The EWGA New Golfer Mentoring Program is available to all EWGA members.

The program teams experienced golfers with newer golfers to help them feel comfortable on the golf course.  Mentoring is what EWGA is all about - helping women enter the game of golf in a fun, supportive and welcoming environment!

Who is a Mentor?

A mentor is an experienced, but not necessarily good golfer who guides a new golfer on pace of play, basic rules and proper etiquette on and off the golf course.  Also, a mentor may guide the new member on how to participate in other EWGA events.

Who is a Mentee?

A mentee is someone making the transition from instruction to playing on a golf course. A mentee is paired with a mentor to guide them around the golf course safely and answer questions about etiquette, basic rules and the other nuances of the game in order to build confidence and comfort in the golf course setting.

The EWGA New Golfer Mentoring Program runs from January 1 - October 31. In addition, ALL U.S. EWGA Chapters are listed as participants in the program.

The EWGA New Golfer Mentoring Program is a win-win for both mentors and mentees.
